About Ewa Community Church
The historic Ewa Community Church (ECC) has served the people of the Ewa Plain for over a century, and has its roots in four ethnic congregations founded by Congregational missionaries. The chapel was built in 1936.
The history of our denomination can be traced to the Pilgrim Congregationalists of New England who came to America in 1620 and whose Foreign Missions Board sent missionaries to Hawaii in 1820, where they founded churches that are tied to the history of the Ewa Sugar Plantation and the Ewa Community Church.
We proclaim Jesus Christ as the head of the church in all matters.
ECC is a member church of the United Church of Christ (UCC) and in covenant with the Oahu Association UCC, and the Hawaii Conference UCC, as one of its 128 churches in the State of Hawaii, and some 6,000 congregations nationally.
